How to use the database (Eng.)
WELCOME PDC-PEDIGREE DATABASE.
Purpose of this website is to collect as many as possible data concerning our magnificent breeds, and allow free and clear admission to the public and everyone who loves and is interested in one of the breeds that ate joined together in our Pekingees & Dwergspaniel Club.
We do invite all breeders and owners to add the (descent)data of his/her dog. Because the more data we are familiar with the better a breeder can find here more information about the possibilities or impossibilities of the combination he/she would like to breed with.
And for anyone who wants to buy a puppy it might be interesting to read about the combination(s) the breeder you prefer has chosen for in the past or present.
DIRECTIONS FOR USING THE DATABASE.
How to act by adding the data about your Dog:
LOGIN:
Go to LOGIN and click on REGISTER NOW, add what's being asked for and click on SUBMIT.
Within a few seconds you will receive a conformation of your user-registration by the e-mailaddress you stated.
Now you can proceed by going to: LOGIN and fill in your USERNAME and PASSWORD, click on USERLOGIN and very shortly (in a split second) the text appears that you have been logged in.
Put on your CAPSLOCK and click up above left near the alphabet on: ADD AN OWNER/BREEDER
First of all verify whether your name already occours in de database!
Fill in a few characters of your name and on a small screen you will see names beginning with the same characters, verify your name is also there.
If not so then fill in what is being asked for and click on: ADD AN OWNER/BREEDER, on the screen you will see a very shortly announcement that your data have been added.
In case of being OWNER as well as BREEDER you only have to add your name only once (1) and put behind your name, between brackets, your kennelname.
Now fetch the pedigree of your dog and click up above left near the alphabet on: ADD A DOG
First of all verify of your dog in not in the database!
Fill in some characters of the pedigree name and on a small screen you will see a name that might be the right one. Click on that name and verify if this is the name of your dog. in case not, then return to ADD A DOG and fill in what'sbeing asked.
ATTENTION:
Because the database still is not complete at all you should start adding names that are mentioned at the extreme right (greatgrandparents) of your dogs pedigree. Frankly spoken you are converting the (pedigree)data from the right to the left (form greatgrandparents to parents).
FOR ALL DATA THAT IS ASKED FOR YOU DO NOT KNOW PLEASE CHECK THE --------
DATE OF BIRTH: fill in: dd/mm/yy
When the date is unknown the fill in 4 noughts (0000)
IS YOU DOG A CHAMPION: YES/NO if you do not know if the dog is a champion yes or no please check -------.
MEDICAL DATA:
Please be so kind, to scan and mail the results of medical tests to webmaster Moleculia: griffies@griffonplaza.com or webmaster admin ad: voorzitter@pekingees-en-dwergspanielclub.nl and one of them will publish the test results of your dog.
CLICK on ADD THE FATHER, in case the father is unknown then clik on: CLICK HERE IF THE FATHER IS UNKNOWN.
When the father is known then click in the ALPHABET UP ABOVE on the character his name starts with and then click on the name concerned.
Same action is applied to ADD THE MOTHER.
When your finished again a short text will appear that the name has been added and you will see the name of the dog you did add above in the summary added dogs.
CLICK up above left in the summary on ADD A DOG and you will be able to add the next name of the pedigree.
ADD A PICTURE: adding a picture of a dog is possible but:
The picture should not be larger than 400 PIXELS WIDE and/or 400 PIXELS HIGH or less high;
Save the picture on your PC in your documents/illutrations with a plain filename;
Note: if you already have a picture of the dog on your homepage it's possible to make a hyperleink to the picture as you can see in the upload screen.
While adding your dog CLICK in IMAGE on LEAF THROUGH and search on your PC ( in your documents/illustrations) for the picture with the filename you gave it.
Touch this filename with the cursor and CLICK on OPEN, the filenam and all other data will appear on the form to fill in.
All you have to do now is to complete the form with all the data of your dog the way it has benn described.
Automatically the picture and data of your dog will be added, you van check this by going to:
USER MENU ( left on the page)
CLICK on PEDIGREE
CLICK then on LATEST ADDITIONS or CLICK on a CHARACTER IN ALFHABET SQUARE.
EXTRA INFORMATION: you can fill in everything that is important to know about your dog and where there is no user field for in this database.
ATTENTION:
ALL the data added by you can only be altered by: YOURSELF and the PDC team.
HELP:
Whenever you can not manage in adding your dogs data, picture of your name, then please send a copy of the pedigree, your name and the dog's picture to:
